Description

These Red Velvet Oreo Cookies are a decadent fusion of two favorite desserts: the rich cocoa-flavored red velvet cake and the classic crunch of Oreo cookies. These cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with crushed Oreo pieces, making them an irresistible treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tablespoon milk

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring

  • 10 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped

  • ½ cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Ingredients

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 2: Mix the Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  2. Add the egg, milk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Mix well.

  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring until combined.

  4. Gently fold in the chopped Oreo cookies and white chocolate chips.

Step 3: Bake the Cookies

  1. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.

  2. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers look slightly soft.

  3. Remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For an extra Oreo flavor, press additional Oreo chunks on top of the cookies before baking.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

  • You can substitute dark chocolate chips for the white chocolate if preferred.
